Here is the first mixed media necklace in the 2009 Fall Line. It is made with copper chain, brown suede, copper viking knit, and handmade lampwork leaves, to create a lovely fall toned woodsy feel.

The copper double stitch viking knit has been cauefully hand woven by me and heat treated to give a beautiful dark patina. I have braided the viking knit with brown suede lace and a fairly large copper cable chain. The ends have been tightly bound with copper wire to create loops in the suede where the clasp is attached. The clasp is a very simple hook style clasp, that makes putting on and taking off this piece incredibly simple!

The necklace itself is stunning with all the texture created with mixed media. However, the focal point of this piece is definitely the beautiful leaf dangle, centered on the necklace. There are 11 handmade lampwork leaves attached to another piece of copper chain. I have attached them in an alternating pattern to create a beautiful and full centerpiece. The leaves are predominately green, however I have mixed some lovely orange colored glass to capture the essence of the changing leaves.

The necklace measures 18" long and the leaf dangle measures 2 1/2" long.
