Lampwork Bead Set---3 pixie dottie rounds in warm pinks

Putting dots on pixie dusted beads can be challenging because glass---even molten glass---doesn't actually stick that well to loose dust. Of course you can wipe the extra off by rolling the hot bead with a wet towel, but that causes its own problems, like deforming the bead with chill marks, or pitting the finish. And, once you get the dots on, then they want to sit on the surface, like rain on a newly waxed car. Apply too much heat, and hey presto, the rather delicate hilite pixie dust burns. So the trailing has to be melted in carefully. But the effect of clear dots on the pearlescent finish is a very nice one, well worth the effort. And I loved the way the photograph of the last batch came out. I wanted not only to see if I could replicate the beads, but reproduce the photo styling too! The pale pink bead is made with an Indian glass---practically the very last of it; the rose bead with check glass from the Czech republic; and the coral bead with the American made Bullseye. All three beads are hollow and three views of the set are shown; you will receive these exact beads. Like all my work, they're fully annealed and cleaned. Hollow beads may look fragile, but as I discovered dropping them on concrete floors many many times, they're quite durable.
