So I’m thinking this yarn would be lovely for fund-raisers in those communities, as well as gifts. Use it to make hats, scarves, team cushion covers, soda pop and other can covers, headband-style ear warmers, gloves, mittens, notebook covers, cell phone bags, ID neckstraps, bikinis, dorm room pillows, keychains, doorknob covers, sweaters, belts, scarves and other vitally essential college gear. In Florida, that may include alligator leashes.

Fibers:

Approximately 60% cotton, 20% wool that does not itch, and the other 20% is nylon, acrylic and poly. We do our best to give accurate percentages and that is about as accurate as we can be for this. This is multi-strand yarn—4 strands-- originally purchased on new commercial yarn cones, then selected and hand-wound by dj runnels for a color combination you will not find anywhere else. Well, okay, we sell it on another web site, but it’s still OURS. And it’s pretty darn popular, too. Beginners are urged to learn how to knit with single strand yarn on larger needles before attempting multiple strands on smaller needles, but almost all knitters get the hang of it and love the unusual results. All our yarns are soft enough for a sweater unless we state otherwise.

Gauge:

3 st = 1 inch, on size 10 or 11 needles. Maybe even size 12, except that my mother says they do not make size 12 needles; I am skeptical, as I am fairly sure I own a pair. Whatever.
