2007
Masks are an important theme in my work that pops in and out of it year after year. Two faces, opposites, shoot sideways glances at each other. The warm dark inks add to the sense of mystery in this piece. Hand printed on Japanese Kitataka paper with beautiful hand torn edges using fine Daniel Smith and Graphic Chemical printmaking ink. Signed, dated and numbered one of a kind on the back. Comes in an archival plastic sleeve.
My process consists of carving multiple, often intricate blocks of wood, I then hand print them layer by layer until I have a satisfying final image. I highlight vibrant colors, create fine details and textures in all of my pieces.
