Herbert Gumwinkle is a monster. He's not a scary, jump out from under your bed type monster or hide behind that cupboard door waiting to pounce on you monster. Herbert is a cuddle monster. He loves nothing more than to go on trips with his best friends to the woods, or the park to run around and have fun, but at the end of every day all he wants to do is snuggle up with his loved ones and read a book. He loves cuddling more than anything else.

Herbert is 34cm (13 3/8th inches) high from floor to top of the head, excluding antenna and 33cm (13 inches) at the widest part across the hips. He is super squishy to hug.

He is knitted from a self patterning 50/50 wool and acrylic mix. The colours of yellow, purple and orange/red combine beautifully to give Herbert a stripy appearance. He is stuffed with polyester fibre toy filling which conforms to British standards BS5852 and BS1425. His eyes are amber and black and are firmly attached with a washer at the back and sit on a white felt surround. Even though these are very secure I have to advise that Herbert is not a suitable toy for a child under 3 years.

If Herbert gets dirty he can be washed over with a damp cloth with cool water and mild wool detergent, but be aware that this could cause felting of the wool if you rub him too harshly. Dry flat away from direct heat. Try not to soak him too much as he will take ages to dry if you do.
