Julia Catherine is a Jewelry Designer as well as Metalsmith and real live Jeweler! who has been creating jewelry since she was a child. As a child her interests were always in some art form, sometimes painting or just creating what she could from what she had. She created and sold her simple jewelry creations from her mothers store as a young child.

At a young age she apprenticed for master Jeweler Diana Feldman. Learning all aspects of Jewelry repair and creation. At the age of 16 she created her first metalsmithed piece of jewelry, not long after that she learned the art of bead stringing. Stringing fine Pearl necklaces on silk with knots between them, mixing them with fine gemstones. By the age of 18 she was creating and selling her own metalsmithed creations made from sterling silver. At the age of 19 she created a line of sterling silver handmade filigree earrings. While her pieces are most often classic simple styles, Julia Catherine also creates unique abstract, modern style pieces.

As a Jeweler Julia Catherine has taken courses from GIA (gemological institute of America) to help better her knowledge of precious and semi precious gemstones. Her favorite gemstone is any in the Tourmaline family. Her other favorite materials include; Sterling Silver, Vintage beads and Findings, Pearls as well as other exotic gems and beads.

Julia Catherine is always expanding her line and adding new types of jewelry and styles featuring new and exciting materials. Fans of her work look forward to new silversmithed pieces upcoming in 2008.

Julia Catherine's favorite things to shop for on etsy include, but are not limited to; Vintage housewares, Vintage Clothing, Handmade Soaps, Bath and Body, Incense,Teas and Vintage supplies. She also likes to incorporate these vintage items in her creations.
