Meet the Maker: LadyArtisan

I've been sculpting for close to seven years and bookbinding for about three years now and enjoy both equally. Of course, it takes much less time for me to complete a book (even a full-leather cover) than it does to sculpt and costume a doll so you'll like see more journals and sketchbooks in my shop than artdolls normally.

I work in a variety of media and am always challenging myself to learn new techniques so don't be surprised to see a rather eclectic grouping of items represented. For books, my current favorite material is leather, either veg-tanned so I can hand carve, stamp and dye the cover to my liking or repurposed leather. With dolls, I like several of the air-dry clays and Apoxie Sculpt (a two-part epoxy clay).

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my work or just want to say hi.
