I'm a wire artist and lapidary and I live in sunny South Florida. I also belong to the Palm Beach Gem & Mineral Society.
I work in copper, sterling silver and 14K gold-filled wires, however, I will work with full carat metals for custom orders. My preference is to work with naturally occurring stones that are unenhanced (not dyed or heat treated). If I do use an enhanced stone I will state so clearly in the listing, some are very attractive and I can't resist the urge to create with them! Please let me know if there is something you'd like to see in my shop, I have hundreds of cabochons from which to choose or can locate a specific stone or gemstone for you.



I am available for custom work. STERLING SILVER: Silver with a fineness of 925 parts per 1000 (92.5%) silver and 75 parts per thousand (7.5%) copper, which increases the silver's hardness.



GOLD FILLED WIRE: Gold-filled wire is made by forming a tube of gold and filling the tube with a base metal, usually jeweler's brass. The gold is pressure and heat bonded to the inner core. The gold content is 5% or 1/20 of the total wire. Gold-filled wire for jewelry offers an affordable, durable choice at a fraction of the cost of solid karat gold. 14K gold filled wire is also called 14/20 gold filled wire. There is 100 times more gold in gold filled than in gold plate. A gold filled pendant is considered a lifetime piece of jewelry. With normal wear and care it should last a lifetime.



COPPER: Copper wire is 99.9% pure. Will your skin turn black? Maybe, it is up to your body. If you are more acidic you may experience this. However, copper is a natural need for our bodies. The black is not harmful and it does not mean you are allergic, just acidic. In fact, you are most likely absorbing needed copper through your skin and the copper may stop turning your skin black when you have enough copper in you.
