Meet the Maker: CotterJames
I grew up in the Midwest as part of an earth-loving family who were respecters of nature and hard work. Every season was filled with seasonal chores and fun. We were guided by grandmothers who dispensed remedies for everyday maladies and heathcare. We spent many summers gathering flowers and herbs that would be knowledgably turned into healing salves and cremes for bruises, headaches and skinned knees. We helped pick fruit and berries that would be lovingly turned into the best jams and jellies, sauces and chutneys. We helped plant, weed and pick the vegetables we grew for canning and freezing. Come cold winter days, all that hard work sure tasted good. In the fall, we would help my grandmother Marie make soap. Her soap was guess work in light of what I do today. She had particular cans and cups for measures and we lined old peach crates with feed sacking for the soap mold. Her formula came from my great-grandmother Etha Ayla's journal. I'm so proud her journal was passed down to me for safe keeping. The history and notes, recipes for salves, cremes and remedies are mine today.
For the last 30 years I have gladly shared the knowledge I was blessed to receive growing up with those around me to help heal and laugh. We never use synthetic ingredients in our work because we learned to make everything naturally. The word Natural is a popular word these days. It's been stretched and misused to the point that it's practically meaningless. But to me, the word Natural is more accurately defined as synthethic free.
It's a joy to know that in this fast-paced busy world, we can offer you synthetic free products to enjoy and use with confidence. When we say natural, we mean it. No exceptions and no excuses.
