Hello and welcome to my shop,
My childhood memories are colored with the beauty of Northern and Southern coasts of Anatolia, thanks to origins of my parents. During my studies of Law in Istanbul, the Grand Bazaar was next to the University and I do love spending time there since then. There were times which I was struck by the amazing atmosphere of the Bazaar and spend my whole evening looking around. My hobbies have always been about arts during my 18 years of lawyer career- from wood painting to oil paint and knitting. Four years ago I decided to start dealing with jewelry. I’ve learnt the hundred years old techniques of traditional gold-smithing from the masters of this art.Living in Anatolia which is a great combination of culture, thousands-of-year-teachings and nature, makes all of my works unique and distinguished from the average. You may get lost in the cultural attraction of Istanbul while fooling around the city, you might open your eyes in the bedroom of a sultan or in a modern arts exhibition, which inspires you deeply, penetrating to your dreams and imagination. You may get dizzy while enjoying the maiden towers 360 degrees view or while gazing the dancing ‘alevi’ and ‘mevlevi’. Just like being on a boat crossing two continents, I am creating my works by the artistic tides and techniques from the East and West. My works have been produced by traditional goldsmithing and silversmithing techniques.
The works that I make reflect the delicate balance of modern arts with Anatolian motifs. I'm working with sawpiercing( cutting designs out of the metal), lost wax and stone settings techniques. From my mind and soul, all the models first imprint themselves on a paper. Afterwards, silver or gold, stones and tools accompany me on this exciting journey. I believe that this good spirit and energy is also recorded and stored in the jewelry and in its stone. You may feel this positive energy while having the jewelry on you.
