My name is Liesan, I was born in the autumn of 1978 and now live with two cats and a terrific man (in that order of course, we human residents humbly bow to our feline masters) in the central part of the Netherlands. I am training to become a professional bookbinder so my main focus is on making books, boxes, portfolio's, albums etc.. I also am a great paper enthousiast and love to make and decorate my own paper, doodle with my xacto knife and just leaf through my stacks of remarkable and unremarkable papers. Besides working with paper I will also have a go at almost every craft or artform time and my budget allow me. When possible I use materials that are eco-friendly and/or produced by people who get paid fairly for their work. However; the quality and beauty of my creations always comes first. I work in a smoke-free environment (obviously not pet free).
I enjoy custom orders and can also bind printed books for you.
The woolfelt friends in my studio were not made by me but by my grandmother who is 87 (in 2009). She spends her days sleeping, playing cardgames, spinning wool and making things (mostly animals) from wool-felt. I sell them here because if I don't her home gets overrun by felt friends :). She (and I) would greatly appreciate it if you'd only buy her items for yourself or as a gift and not to resell them at a profit. My grandmother works from a smoke-free and pet-free home.
I can't accept custom orders for her.
thank you for having a look around in my shop, have a wonderful day!

I did make some pictures of my 'studio' when it was cleared and clean and orderly but as that is not at al the usual state of it I decided to show you some clutter. The 'fine mess' - as one of my friends called it - on this picture is of course not a workable situation for me :) (these are all the books I made in 6 months minus a few custom orders and sales)
I adore my old cast iron bookpress, it's small and simple and suits my needs perfectly for the time being. It also doesn't take up too much space which is good because the space I have is generous, but still limited.
I do not often get the chance to do so but I love working on big books or albums very much (the one in the picture has pages of 20 x 25 cm). Somehow I find it enormously pleasing to have projects on my table that just cannot be avoided or put aside because they simply take up all the available space.
