I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. As a child I often raided my mothers scrap box to make Barbie Clothes and small gifts.
In my late 20s, my love of animals sent me back to school to get a degree in animal science so I could work as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. When I became a stay at home mom I started making all kinds of critters and doing craft fairs. I was making button jointed velour bears when someone suggested I try a teddy bear in mohair. By the mid 90s I was doing bears shows up and down the east coast.
My critters tend toward the whimsical and my love of animals is reflected in the Teddy bears, dogs, cats and other critters I create.
My husband, Bill, and I reside in warm central Florida near the Space Center with our 2 Dachshunds, Lexi and Lucy.
