My name is Meri (well, my "real" name is Susan, but Meri is my nickname), and I'm a 26 year old artist from a suburb of Philadelphia. My inspiration largely comes from literature, nature, and fantasy. I also love late spring and summer (I'm a Cancer whose elements are Water and Earth- specifically, water that feeds green growing things).

I make pretty much anything if I can get my hands on the supplies, but crochet, sculpting, and jewelry making are my three favorites. I've always been artistically-inclined; in school I took as many art classes as I was allowed, and eventually found my niche in pottery. Currently I work with polymer clays, and I'm having a blast mixing in powders and sculpting with it.

I've been making jewelry pretty much all my life, starting with those plastic beads I made into necklaces for my sister and mom. I've only gotten really into it recently, though, so I'm learning how to work wire as I go along, as well as how to crochet beads onto yarn and hemp. My latest addiction is chainmaille, and I love weaving jewelry and accessories.

And as for crocheting, it's only been about three or four years since I was taught the single stitch (by a lefty, which was interesting!). I've been teaching myself other stitches from books and experimenting, and so far my favorite things to crochet are plushies/dolls.

For a random piece of info, the faerie that's usually in my avatar and banner is my muse, or how I imagine my creative side to look. This is actually different from the Elfling in my shop name, who is my main alter ego; that one is half Wood Elf, half Halfling. (The drawing over to the right is one I did years ago of this persona.)
