I'm a 29 year old mother of three, and I confess to bribing my children with SpongeBob and cookies in exchange for allowing Mom time to devote to her art. They also occasionally will find themselves featured in my pieces. Of course, our cat Dominic butters me up the most, and therefore, has become my mascot. :) Why fantasy art? Fantasy has always been my reality. Growing up, I was convinced my "home" was a distant planet inhabited by magical creatures. I spent years trying to bring my friends to life through stories, paint, fabric, and sculpture... As an adult, I discovered the world of Photoshop and "photomanipulation", which finally gave me the tools to make my fantasies seem as "real" in photos as they've always been in my mind. Digital art is less "messy" (always a concern at my house!), but when the beasts are asleep I also devote time to traditional painting with big-girl brushes! :)
