Meet the Maker: Liquidambar
As a husband and wife team we share in all aspects of the work that we create. We share ideas, drawings, suggestions and criticisms. Our two teenagers are both artists as well and contribute in every way; learning by working. The majority of our work is hand built pottery. We use both the coiling and the slab built techniques. Some of our work is thrown on the wheel and some of the work combines these techniques.
We all are involved with other mediums as well. John works with black and white photography, Nancy is an illustrator and silk-screener, Clint mostly throws on the wheel but also works with glass. And I do a bit of everything, but my second love is glass.
There is a great deal of thought and planning for every item. Our work is very personal. We strive to make unusual items, both functional and decorative.
