Meet the Maker: GAJLSBEADSNSUCH
Hi!,
Welcome to GAJLSBEADSNSUCH...
My name is Gena Anaya and I am a recently engaged mother of two. My daughter, Amber, and my son, Joshua both live with me as well as my mother Lavina. We all enjoy beading.
I was the first to get the beading bug. I started using regular glass beads, #8 seed beads, and beading wire to create namebadge lanyards. I did pretty well and as I got more into the business, I started to experiment with seed beads and bead weaving. I WAS HOOKED! I had found my passion. I really enjoyed following patterns created by Sandra Halpenny, then, I started creating my own designs. I have about two years experience in bead weaving and know it is what I should be doing...it is what I was created to do! Unfortunately, I can only create on a parttime basis. I work fulltime as a Cat Scan Technologist at a busy Inner City Hospital in Kansas City, MO, which only allows me to weave during the week and my work has to be shared with my family in going back and forth to appointments, etc.
Not only have I found beadweaving to be a passion, I have always been an avid reader, and, because of my desire to always be reading, I have a large collection of bookmarks and have also found enjoyment in creating my own. I also like to decorate books with my custom bookmarks.
Other projects that I have tackled include rosaries, rennesaunce bracelets, eye glasses necklaces, and more.
