My name is Kevin and I am the Director of Social Media here at ArtFire.com. I also work closely with the ArtFire Maven team, a fantastic group of sellers who help us with experimental blogging iniatives, usability testing, and invaluable constructive feedback. Those of you who frequent the ArtFire Chatterbox might recognize my screen name "ArtFireSMO".
As part of the launch of the new ArtDaily look, I'll be writing a Social Media column here each week. I'll be updating you on the weekly happenings in social media, both on the world wide social web and right here at ArtFire. More importantly, we'll talk about how all of it could affect your business.
To kick off this week, lets talk about a little of the buzz that has been coming from Twitter. On Monday, March 15th, Twitter annoucend a new

set of frameworks called "@anywhere". While there hasn't been too much information relseaed about @anywhere yet, we are expecting more information after the Twitter Developer Conference that will be held in April. Right now, it sounds like the @anywhere framework will allow websites to embed some simple code that will allow users to interact with twitter without ever leaving the parent site. That means artisans with twitter accounts on artfire might be able to show off their tweets AND provide an easy to use box to let your customerstweet @ you right from your studio! We're watching the situation unfold and look forward to providing you with more details as it becomes available.
Thanks for reading this introductory Social Media Chronicle, I'm looking forward to keeping you up-to-date on the Social happenings of the week!
