Ten Times More ArtFire URLS being Indexed by Google

We’re beginning to the fruits of our labor with the custom tools we were working on back in early April to enhance our sitemaps. Along with the other adjustments we made to how ArtFire interacts with Google, these enhanced sitemaps have resulted in more ArtFire blog posts, items, studios, and pages being added to Google’s index than ever before. Before this update, on an average day, about 70,000 URLS were being indexed. After checking in yesterday, we found that this number has shot up to 800,000 URLS being indexed on average daily. That’s more than ten times the numbers from last month.
But what does this indexing mean for your studio? It means that the Google spider keeps coming back, which will help items, posts, and studios place higher on search result pages on Google, thus helping to put your business in front of more people.
We’ll keep you posted on further progress with this moving forward. If you want more information about this update and other updates on ArtFire, be sure to tune into the latest InsideHandmade episode, which has just been posted on the Interact page and InsideHandmade.com.
