Greetings and welcome to another ArtFire SEO Roundup! This week the big news is coming from Google’s annual developer conference. But first, a big congratulations to YouTube!
YouTube turns 5
YouTube has officially been around for 5 years and is now streaming 2,000,000,000 videos a day, according to site reports. Without a doubt, YouTube has played a pivotal role in shaping how we view and consume media on the internet. YouTube is also the second more popular search engine (in search volume) on the web, which means you shouldn’t be ignoring YouTube as a viable search engine to optimize for.
Google TV
One of the big announcements from Google this week is Google TV. While the idea of a seamless internet-TV shift sounds amazing, we’ll have to wait on more of the details. The announcement was made at Google I/O, and included CEOs from “Sony, Best Buy, Echostar, Adobe, Logitech and Google.” which is a powerhouse lineup of technology leaders.
The Android “Froyo”
The latest update to the Android mobile operating system was announced at Google I/O, and the online community has lit up with excitement. Along with a host of new features that open up the world of web-apps on mobile phones, the latest Android update is incredibly fast and can turn smart phones into mobile wifi hotspots, which would allow users to access the internet on their laptops using their cellular data connection. Lots of exciting news rolled up in this announcement that will likely push the mobile web toward a dominant position in how consumers access the web in the future.
