Where do you live and what is it like?

I sold my home knowing it would be too hard for me to take care of while getting up in age. I bought a Garden apartment in a just built building. I have a lovely unit on a corner end. It is located in the country so it is very lovely here. It is a 55 and over building and I have met many wonderful friends here. We do a lot together and get together at least once a week so I am very happy here.

What role does your family play in your work?

I live with my little dog Hershey who is great company for me. My children are grown and married and I have two grandchildren: a girl who is fifteen and a boy who is ten years old. They are happy that I keep active in my life. I see them often but I don't pressure them for anything at this point because they have their own lives to live. I have met many great friends here and they are like family to me. We get together quite often.

Where did you learn your medium?

I have been into crafts almost all of my life including knitting, crocheting, tole painting, cross stitch and now my coasters. My neighbor and best friend taught me how to make the coasters in a day and now I can't stop.

I will be adding some of my Jewelry in the future but want to get a good choice of coasters on first. I know times are hard right now for a lot of people but hopefully it will get better and I plan to have a nice selection for the Holidays. I am not making them to make money, just enough to purchase more supplies.  I just am happy knowing that I am still able to do so and there are lots of people who are not so handy at crafting but love handmade items.

What are your goals with your ArtFire studio?

I have no goals for my store. I love making the coasters and just want to share with other people. Of course I am hoping to sell a few sets because I am running out of space in my home. Every closet has at least one box of coasters in it. I hope to join some forums on the site and get more involved. I have asked a few questions and people have responded right away. First I want to build my store up a little more. I am on Facebook so every so often I put my store up for my friends to see and also the email address for the whole ArtFire Site because there are so many talented people and beautiful items here for them to browse through.
