All the fun things you can do with a mason jar

I’ve recently become addicted to mason jars.  So much so that I just went to Walmart and bought a whole bunch after I found out how cheap they were.  So far, I’m just using them as glasses, but, have found so many other great ideas for how to use them that I had to share.  How do you use your mason jars…besides for jelly:)

*My husband has been using them to take drinks with him to work.  Just put the lid on the top and voila drink to go:)

*I had read somewhere and the reason why I bought the mason jars in the beginning was to store my pills that are on my bedside table.

*A blog called Gourment Gals gave a few really cute ideas: stylish salt dispenser (this is really cool!), add labels and use to display foods on the table this fourth of July, and so many ways to update the lids and have some fun.

*Then, there’s always Pinterest to turn to for great ideas:)  Here are a few original ideas I had to share:

-GENIUS! A mason jar chandelier!  This would be fun in a kitchen.

-I couldn’t find a link for this but it’s too cool to not share!  Mason Jar organizers for the bathroom!

-Use a mason jar as a candle holder.

-The final site I found on Pinterest, Tip Junkie had so many great ideas.  I’m going to just list a few of them here to catch your interest, but I think there are about 37 for you to choose from!  Bake a pie in a mason jar.  I think I’ve seen this done on Martha Stewart or something and it’s pretty cute.  Make homemade soap, lotion, etc and put in a mason jar and label and give as a gift.  I think I’m going to do this for Christmas gifts this year.  Put the dry ingredients needed for a soup or cookies into the mason jar and label it with the item you’ve put together and the directions.  Also a great gift.  Finally, the idea that caught my eye on Pinterest, use a mason jar to create mason jar wall planter!  How crazy is that!?  Had to share the picture of course:)
