These polymer clay and sterling silver earrings were made with a 1/4 x 1/4 x 3/8 inch polymer clay bead that was hand layered with blue, silver, and black clay. There is a metallic sheen due to the type of clays used and the beads were given a glossy glaze prior to assembly. They have a unique stripe pattern and each bead varies slightly.

The polymer clay bead is on a silver plated eye pin with metallic silver seed beads, the eye pin is on a 5 mm sterling silver jumpring, which is on a 1/2 inch sterling silver ear wire.

The polymer clay beads were hand shaped and vary slightly from one another, 1/2 inch by 3/8 inch in size. They were given a glossy glaze. The metallic shimmer seen in the pictures is part of the piece due to the use of particular types of clay. The dangle length of the eye pin is 3/4 inch on a 5 mm jumpring hanging from a 1/2 inch ear wire.

	</a>
	The February MSOE (Mad Scientists of Etsy) challenge is Mycology. I used polymer clay and metal thumbtacks to make these two pushpins.

The mushroom has an unassuming greyish white cap...until you turn it over to see the underside of the shroom, which is similar to the button mushrooms used in salads. It is approximately 3/4 inch in diameter with a quarter inch rise in the center of the cap.

The toadstool is reminiscent of the "quilted" mushrooms of cartoons. There are impressions on the spots indicating "stitching", which are alternating green and yellow. The toadstool is one-half inch by one-half inch in size.

The tacks are baked into the clay to make the pushpins stand up to practical use. The actual pin sticks out a quarter inch or more. They were both given a light glossy glaze.

They will be shipped with the tack in corkboard (or styrofoam) for protection.

	</a>
	This pendant is a melamine cameo set in polymer clay. The cameo is orange gold with gradient coloring, as seen in the photos. The clay was hand shaped around the cameo prior to curing in order to guarantee that the components become one. The polymer clay was hand sanded and given a glossy glaze. The cameo retained it's raised texture of a young woman looking into a mirror.

Approximate measurements: 1-3/4 inches long by 1-1/4 inches wide by 1/4 inch thick. The bail/jumpring hole is just under 1/8 inch diameter (use of 7 mm jumpring or larger is recommended)

Because of the hand shaping, there are some inconsistencies in the thickness of the clay, making it a folk art-like piece.

	</a>
	This is a melamine/resin cameo set in metallic silver polymer clay. The cameo is black with gradient coloring to white, as seen in the photos. The clay was hand shaped around the cameo prior to curing in order to guarantee that the components become one. The polymer clay was hand sanded and given a glossy glaze. The cameo retained it's raised texture of a young woman looking into a mirror.

Approximate measurements: 1-3/4 inches long by 1-1/4 inches wide by 3/8 inch thick. The bail/jumpring hole is just under 1/8 inch diameter (use of 7 mm jumpring or larger is recommended)

The back is somewhat dome shaped. Because of the hand shaping, there are some inconsistencies in the thickness of the clay, making it a folk art-like piece.
