This large hand forged bowie knife is made from a leaf spring out of a 63 Chevy pickup truck. The steel, 5160 is known for it's toughness and edge holding ability. Forged to shape then flat ground, this knife is a full 13 1/2" long with 8" of blade. The full tang is tapered from 1/4" at th blade to 1/8" at the butt. I have fileworked this knife in a nice southwestern lightning pattern from the tip of the blade to the bottom of the guard. The face of the guard is fileworked as well. The guard is a sandwich of Damascus and turquoise. The handle slabs are attached with 5/16" solid brass pins and glued with industrial epoxy. The spine is raised 1/8" on the front of the handle and tapers from the guard to flush at the butt. The flat ground blade is 2" wide and oil hardened. The blade is finished to 1500 grit satin finish and given a pewter gray finish. The hand stitched sheath has an antique steel band for strength, and is branded with a stylized lightning bolt. The blade is etched with my logo, making it a fine heavy use knife for the outdoorsman or collector.

This carving set is forged from high carbon rail road spikes. I have twisted the handles then drawn out the steel to shape on the anvil. The blade on the knife is then ground and oil hardened. The steel used in spikes has an excellent edge holding character. The knife is a full 11 1/2" long and perfectly balanced for use. The fork is forged and ground from a similar spike

Southwestern in style, this beautiful decorative knife is a suitable addition to any home or office motif. Forge welded at 2300 degrees from 3/4" crane cable and handled in weathered dyed Elk antler with heavy naval brass trim, this piece is more sculpture than tool. I have attempted to capture and blend the beauty of an eagles wing with the utilitarian aspects of a common Indian hunting knife. This 8 1/2" knife is hand forged and signed. Although it is extremely sharp, due to the nature of the medium I am not able to guarantee this knife for use as I normally do. This is not a heavy use knife.
