Please read shipping notes before ordering this piece of handmade jewelry. This distinctive one-of-a-kind piece is a happy marriage of Kazuri beads, various embroidery fibers and Vermeil cones and findings. Kazuri beads are ceramic beads made in Kenya by women of the Kikuyu tribe. The beads are made with clay from the Mt Kenya area lending authenticity to finished product. The beads used in this particular piece feature real 14K gold accents on cobalt blue Kazuri beads with two different embroidery fibers, one blue and one gold, blended with two different size and colors of gold seed beads, rice shaped freshwater pearls and three different Kazuri beads in cobalt blue. This necklace does not have a focal bead. Instead it has a large knot centered between two pita pats in unaccented cobalt blue. Each of these plain pita pats is embellished with three oval links of Vermeil chain. The finished necklace measures 20 inches and is closed with a lobster claw and simple, unadorned cones. The end result is a unique necklace that is guaranteed to draw attention to its wearer. In addition to personal checks and US Postal Money orders, I accept PayPal. Shipments paid for by check are held until the check clears the financial institution on which it was written.I do not pad my shipping charges but do pass actual costs on to you, the buyer. ArtFire requires that I pick a number for shipping so I picked the least expensive, slow-boat-to-China rate offered by the United States Postal Service. Secondary shipping charges depend on what else you are purchasing. If you are purchasing more than one item at a time from my studio, please e-mail for shipping charges. If you wish to choose a shipping method other than the USPS to a US address, the cost is more. This listing is for a custom made, 6.5&quot; ursine personality fully wobble jointed; stuffed with polyester fiberfill and weighted with steel shot shavings for a heavy-in-your-hand life-like feel. The body of the bear may be made from my recycled coat or yours. The details of the bears costume are entirely up to you. You may choose to use your own baubles for the hat and/or purse or may select from my stash. Your bear will have, hand blown German glass eyes in the color of your choice, an embroidered nose in the style, size and shape of your choosing; eye lids and lashes as well as the outer wear of your choice. His/her paw pads and inner ears will be made of butter soft suede. All of my real fur bears are one-of-a-kind designs that are extremely labor intensive. Each of these bears presents its own challenges, but the smaller they are, the more difficult they are to make. It is virtually impossible to get your fingers inside any bear smaller than four and a half inches. For bears that small, I work under magnification with surgical tools. I have been able to successfully make many real fur bears as small as 3.5&quot;. This particular bear took four weeks of my time to do all of the following:Disassemble the coat.Clean and treat the skins.Trace the pattern on the skins and lining.Cut out the bear and line it.Stitch it together.Turn it right side out.Sculpt the face.Embroider the nose.Set the eyes, trademark star and attach the ears.Your bear, like all of my beaded bears, will be a one-of-a-kind teddy bear designed and hand stitched by Shelley K. Bossert of Ursa Minor Miniatures. All of my teddy bears are grown-up collectors&#039; items not toys and not intended for small children. Small parts present a choking hazard. This, one-of-a-kind, bead knitted pouch measures 4.5&quot; wide at it&#039;s belled bottom and 3.5&quot; high including fringed trim. It was knitted from #8, Spanish made Finca pearl cotton and hematite glass beads from Czechoslovakia. The strap measures 36&quot; and was crocheted and embellished with more hematite beads and fresh water pearls. This entrelac pouch was designed and hand knitted by Shelley K. Bossert, of Ursa Minor Miniatures.

My pouch designs began as vehicles for collectors of my miniature teddy bears to safely carry their tiny ursine treasures with them when they went out. Over time, non-collectors have begun to purchase and use them in the more traditional manner. This one is just large enough to hold a credit card and a lipstick, a cell phone, tiny teddy or any other small treasure.

For the knitters among you, a pattern with colored pictures is available for purchase upon request. Convo me for instructions on how to order.

<title>Recycled Persian Lamb Artist Bear, NCTeddyBearLady (USD $300.00)</title>

	&#60;/a&#62;
Midnight Storm, named for her stern look, is one of the most difficult real fur bears I have ever made. At 6.5&quot; tall, she is crafted from a full length Persian lamb coat that had been stored in heavy humidity in a warm climate. As a result the skin side of the fur had begun to deteriorate so badly that when I went to stitch the pattern pieces of this bear together, it just fell apart in my hands. I retreated the skin side of the fur with a special mix of oils made for especially for me. The mix kills bacteria, fungus and mildew, the most common causes of rot in pelts. Then I cut new pieces from different sections of the coat. Some would be good and others would fall apart again. Not to be deterred, I just kept trying until I had enough pieces to put this darling together. When I sculpted her face, I chose to give her the expression of consternation that I had on my face for most of the time I was working on her.

In addition to the condition of her fur, there was the problem of making her eyes, nose and mouth show up in her dark face. You can&#039;t put black eyes on a black bear and expect to see them. The same is true for the nose. After much thought, I chose to give her blue eyes set in blue gray leather patches to make them stand out better. I matched the embroidered nose and mouth to the leather patches behind her eyes. I used the same leather for her inner ears and paw pads.

Like most of my recycled real fur bears, Storm has wobble joints and is stuffed with polyester fiberfill and weighted with steel shot for a heavy-in-your-hand, life-like feel. She also has my trademark star in her paw pad. Her eyes and hand blown glass from Germany in a brilliant cobalt blue with a black center. In spite of all the trouble I had making her, I love the way she looks.

I have been able to successfully make many real fur bears as small as 3.5&quot;and even one as tiny as 2.5&#039;. This particular bear took three weeks of my time to do all of the following:

disassemble the coat from which she was made
clean and treat the skins
trace the pattern on the skins and lining
cut out the bear and line it
stitch it together
turn it right side out
sculpt the face
embroider the nose
set the eyes, trademark star and attach the ears

Midnight Storm is a one-of-a-kind teddy bear designed and hand stitched by Shelley K. Bossert of Ursa Minor Miniatures. Like all of my teddy bears, this bear is not a toy and is not intended for small children. Small parts present a choking hazard. Penny is a limited edition miniature mohair teddy bear designed and hand stitched by teddy bear artist, Shelley K. Bossert of Ursa Minor Miniatures. There were five bears in this edition and this is the last of the five.

Penny is made from copper colored, hand woven and hand dyed mohair. There was only enough of this mohair woven to make five teddy bears. This is the last of the series of five. Penny is 6.5&quot; tall and has moveable wobble joints. She is stuffed with polyester fiberfill and weighted with steel shot for a heavy-in-your-hand life-like feel. Her nose, mouth, claw marks and brows are embroidered with Spanish made Finca pearl cotton. Her eyes are black, hand blown German glass. Her paw pads and inner ears are made from elk skin suede. Like all my bears, Penny, sports my trademark star in her paw pad.

Penny is a one-of-a-kind teddy bear designed and hand stitched by Shelley K. Bossert of Ursa Minor Miniatures. Like all of my teddy bears, this bear is not a toy and is not intended for small children. Small parts present a choking hazard. This bear is 4.5&quot; short. She is crafted from vintage mohair in dark royal blue. The fabric was originally made as an upholstery fabric for furniture and Model T cars. I managed to find a yard each of three colors, amethyst, emerald green and dark royal blue. I have made several bears from this fabric and beaded them all. Pearl is the third design. I used Japanese delicas in a pearl color to embellish this wonderful fabric. Pearl sports an Elizabethan style cap and collar. The collar, made from ruffled gros grain ribbon, is embellished with the same beads used on the rest of Pearl&#039;s body.

Pearl is fully jointed. She has black suede paw pads and inner ears, an embroidered nose and hand blown German glass eyes in blue. She is stuffed with polyester fiberfill and is weighted with steel shot for a heavy-in-your hand feel. She sports my trademark star in her paw pad.

Pearl is a one-of-a-kind teddy bear designed and hand stitched by Shelley K. Bossert of Ursa Minor Miniatures. Aunt Jewel is an artist teddy bear lapel pin. She is a vision in blue from her hand blown German glass eyes and her ruffled collar to her over-the-top, cobalt blue plumed and jeweled hat. She is made of sparse Schulte mohair stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has black, hand blown German glass eyes and a nose and mouth embroidered with size 16, Finca pearl cotton. Her has is constructed of dyed pig skin lined with a brightly stripped Turkish silk. The &quot;jewels&quot; on the top of that hat are vintage Czech crystals, circa 1930. The point of her brass pin has a removable protector not shown in any of these pictures.

Gabriel is a miniature recycled, real fur teddy bear designed and hand stitched by teddy bear artist, Shelley K. Bossert. Gabriel is made from an antique whole animal stole circa 1900. The stole was five baby foxes, complete with heads, feet and tails. This 2.5&quot; ursine personality is fully wobble jointed, with polyester fiberfill and weighted with steel shot shavings for a heavy-in-your-hand life-like feel. Gabriel is displayed in a Christmas ornament that is included in the sale price.
All of my real fur bears are one-of-a-kind designs that are extremely labor intensive. Each of these bears presents its own challenges, but the smaller they are, the more difficult they are to make. It is virtually impossible to get your fingers inside any bear smaller than four inches. For bears that small, I work under magnification with surgical tools. I have been able to successfully make many real fur bears as small as 3.5&quot;, but Gabriel is the only one of this size I have been able to produced. It took six weeks of my time to do all of the following:

disassemble the stole from which he was made
clean and treat the skins
trace the pattern on the skins and lining
cut out the bear and line it
stitch it together
turn it right side out
sculpt the face
embroider the nose
set the eyes trademark star and attach the ears

Gabriel&#039;s nose, is embroidered with Spanish made Finca pearl cotton; his eyes are amber, hand blown German glass; his paw pads and inner ears are made from butter soft suede and, like all my bears, he wears my trademark silver star in his paw pad.

<title>Recycled Real Fur Artist Bear, Emily Opal, NCTeddyBearLady (USD $250.00)</title>

	&#60;/a&#62;
Emily Opal is a miniature recycled, real fur teddy bear designed and hand stitched by teddy bear artist, Shelley K. Bossert. She is made from a fifty year old, full length ermine coat. This 3.5&quot; ursine personality is fully wobble jointed, with polyester fiberfill and weighted with steel shot shavings for a heavy-in-your-hand life-like feel.

Emily has black, hand blown German glass eyes. She has two Australian black opal tear drops below her right eye and a heart shaped Australian black opal on her chest. Her nose is embroidered with size 8 Finca pearl cotton. Her paw pads and inner ears are made of butter soft pig skin suede.

This particular bear took four weeks of my time to do all of the following:

disassemble the coat from which she was made
clean and treat the skins
trace the pattern on the skins and lining
cut out the bear and line it
stitch it together
turn it right side out
sculpt the face
embroider the nose
set the eyes, trademark star and attach the ears

Emily Opal is a one-of-a-kind teddy bear designed and hand stitched by Shelley K. Bossert of Ursa Minor Miniatures. Like all of my teddy bears, this bear is not a toy and is not intended for small children. Small parts present a choking hazard. Aleena is a four inch, Made-From-Thread Bear necklace, not counting the tassels on her feet. The necklace strap is 32&quot; long and can be adjusted to a shorter but not longer length. She was crocheted from size 8, pastel pink, Finca perle cotton. Her eyes are hot pink, flat back Swarovski crystals. Her hair is made from vintage (circa 1900) silver lined bugle beads. Her tu tu is two colors of ruffled organza ribbon. The tassels on the bottom of her feet and her necklace strap are an eclectic mix of fresh water pearls, vintage seed and bugle beads and vintage Czech crystals strung on the same pearl cotton from which she is crocheted. Her nose, mouth and eye brows are embroidered from size 8, black Finca pearl cotton.Aleena is fully jointed with disk and cotter pin wobble joints. Stuffed with polyester fiberfill, she is made to be worn as a necklace. She is a one-of-a-kind teddy bear designed and hand stitched by Shelley K. Bossert of Ursa Minor Miniatures. Like all of my teddy bears, this bear is not a toy and is not intended for small children. Small parts present a choking hazard. This is a piece of jewelry to treasure for a lifetime.
