Brilliant colors in a nice roving made from the wool of Texel sheep at Border Springs Farm in Patrick Springs, Virginia. I took the wool to Central Virginia Fiber Mill to be processed into this lovely, easy to spin roving. There's an article on our web site at http://www.greenberryhouse.com/texel_wool.htm about Texel sheep and the properties of the wool. This roving was dyed with acid dyes in the colors of deep red, red, lilac and shades of brilliant blue. This roving would spin into a nice springy yarn that would make excellent outer wear such as mittens, hats, or even a heavy sweater! Net weight: One ounce. Made in Virginia product!

The soft colors and handsome gilding, along with nice embossed design, create a handsome postcard for any collection. I have not been able to identify this building, but feel that this is a later postcard, perhaps from the late 1940s or early 1950s. American troops were stations in Amberg, Germany, until troop reduction not very long ago. This is one of a series of photographs of the same building, depicting a modern looking front. Another sensuous and detailed colored photo in delicate hues of roses against a softly blurred background, for an almost three dimensional effect. There is even a dainty pink bud and some fading leaves. The publisher's trademark and the number 2317 are stamped in the bottom right corner of the front of the card. Divided back, unused, with a repeat of the trademark. Very light edge wear, slight corner creases from album mount, back a little tanned.

	This lovely postcard is subtly colored with delicate pinks, salmon and yellow against a smoky brown background of clouds. Delicate sprays of baby's breath and roses with the sentiment "Puisse ce Souvenir Vous faire un peu plaisir!" A trademark Alix and the number 113 appear in the bottom right corner. </a>
	Two pleasant postcards with a Victorian aura. Each has a quotation from the poet's work along with a picture of the author and a country scene featuring flowers. Oliver Wendell Holmes looks down on a brick walled pasture with purple crocus growing large in the foreground. The quotation reads "Come, dear old comrade you and I/ Will steal an hour from days gone by/ The lusty days of long ago/ When you were Bill and I was Joe. Ralph Waldo Emerson's card features daisies in front of a pasture bound with a chain and posts and a house with a windmill. The poem reads "I go to seek my own hearthstone/ Bosomed in yon green hills alone/ A secret lodge in a pleasant land/ Whos groves the frolic fairies planned." Divided back, addressed with note, one cent stamp. The Emerson card is postmarked June 30, 1910; the Holmes postmark is illegible. Both cards show some wear, darkening and slight staining, the Holmes card has a 1 inch closed tear in the bottom edge and several creases. One crease in the Emerson card.

	Although this card is a bit faded and stained, the image of a handsome building surrounded by trees is appealing. The penciled remarks on the card indicate that this was a school building, and that the sender knew boys that attended it. Divided back, addressed with note, notes on front of card, postmarked Oct. 27, 1907, stamp removed. Some staining and tanning of card stock, black smudges from postmark on front of card, light edge wear.

	As far as I can determine, this impressive structure, built in 1865-1868, is still standing and has been converted to The Amberg College. Amberg, a very old city, is in Bavaria, Germany. Divided back, unused. The publisher is Heinrich Storg, Amberg/Opf. A number Q 2993 43 is printed in the square for the stamp. The card is a little tanned and foxed, light edge wear. The publisher later became known for publishing the beautiful erotic images of Julian Mandel, but there is already a sensuous beauty in this colored photograph of a sheaf of lilies against a softly blurred background with an almost three dimensional effect. The publisher's trademark and the number 2444 appear in the bottom right corner of the front. Divided back, unused, with a repeat of the trademark. Light crease in bottom right corner, some light foxing of image, slight edge wear, back slightly tanned.

	This interesting postcard is one of a series, each showing what appears to be the German countryside, with a few soldiers in each real photo scene. This image is photographed across a lake, and looks deceptively peaceful. But two uniformed men are embarking in a small boat onto the lake, and a row of wagons stretches past the building into the background. Divided back, unused. The ring measure to size 5 but could be stretched easily to fit a larger hand. Very slight scratches visible under a loupe, otherwise a beautiful piece. Item Number GBH-J-137

	I don't know enough about fine jewelry to know if the stones in these screw back earrings are glass or real, but this is an elegant pair of earrings that the picture doesn't do justice. The setting with the small clear stones is just .5 inch across and the gold has almost a rosy tone. The red stone has a nice depth of color and these earrings would be a beautiful accent to enjoy for years to come. There is a small scratch on one of the red stones and the earrings need cleaning. The subject of this beautiful piece is a favorite one of horses and is signed and numbered 263 of 375 in pencil. The Certificate on the back is from The Collector's Guild, and the number 1028 is stamped on the back above the certificate. I have been unable to identify the title of this piece. The print is in very good condition, matted and framed, 32 inches x 17 inches. The frame has several dings along the edges and the glass is scratched at the bottom. Made in Austria, US-Zone, which dates them to not long after World War II. A lovely and complete set of twenty-four beautiful light blue glass buttons, set with tiny sparkling rhinestones (two rhinestones are missing), all sewn onto the original card. Other than the missing rhinestones and the need for a little cleaning, I can see no flaws in the buttons. The card is a little wrinkled and tanned on the backside, and one button has been pulled a little loose over the years. This is a charming little set that would make a nice addition to your button collection, or a beautiful finishing touch to your handmade garment! Buttons are approximately 5/16 inch across. If there is a more pure white available in natural fibers, I can't think what it would be. Pure white angora from my beautiful German angoras spins into a wonderful luxury yarn and it can be blended with soft merino or other fine wools for amazing yarn to create beautiful shawls, sweaters, scarves, mittens, you name it! White angora is also wonderful dyed; I've painted it, splattered it, vat dyed it, dipped it; it always turns out beautiful no matter what technique I use. From soft pastels to rich vibrant colors, angora is a wonderful fiber for lovely soft yarn! Rabbit not included. Net weight: one ounce.

	Another favorite, with subtle blue tones in the gray because the blue rabbit color is a dilute of the black. This makes a yarn just slightly different than the black, but with the lovely rich gray tones that I expect from my special herd. This yarn is lovely blended with natural colored white or gray wool, and I've done a lovely tweedy yarn with dark gray alpaca blended with this color. The rich bloom of this fiber will make a wonderfully soft yarn that will suit any of your projects requiring softness and fluff! Net weight: One ounce. Rabbit not included! Item Number GBH-Z-04c

	</a>
	My personal favorite angora color and fiber. I've been breeding my black lines since 1999, and the harvest of wonderfully dark gray that I shear from my herd of German Cross rabbits is wonderful to spin. I like creating a fine yarn of soft gray pure angora with this fiber, or blending it with a nicely colored gray wool from merino or Corriedale sheep. After this wool is spun, it blooms into a soft, beautifully fluffy yarn that would be wonderful in a scarf, as an edging to a larger project or as a soft cuff to mittens or socks. Over-dying creates a lovely variegated fiber for spinning or felting. Net weight 1 ounce. Bunny not included! Model Number GBH-Z-4d

	Hand Painted Angora and Merino Yarn My farm raised white Angora wool, blended with wonderful merino fleece from Thistle Cove Farm, and spun to my specifications by Still River Mill in Connecticut, for a very special yarn with unique character and softness. These lovely soft skeins, at about 80 yards to the ounce, were hand painted by me in rich shades that range from nearly turquoise to vibrant yellow across a myriad of green tones. Careful treatment with acid dyes and vinegar mordant preserves the wonderful softness of the yarn, which will soften and bloom with time and use. This is a light worsted weight yarn, pure luxury for those special projects! NOTE: This is a hand made item. Variations in color concentration occur from skein to skein. 50% Angora/50% merino blend.
