Very Excited

Little Girl Teddy Bear
I am so very excited to have had an almost normal week for the first time in six weeks. I was able to get a lot of work done and I feel back on track. I really love getting to do what I do. I hope that for the next few weeks I can list some awesome plct's as well as some new cool things I have been working on. Stuff for baby showers and stuff just for fun! I still need to get stock up for my shows this fall. I am feeling very creative with this great weather this weekend and hope spring gets here soon! Today was too nice. Here in Georgia it was mid 60's and not a cloud in the sky. I opened up all the windows and made a few things I am keeping for myself. As I always do when I try out something new. I will post some pictures tomorrow. Good night.

Working hard

I just posted this blog and then the picture did not show up and I deleted it instead of edit it. Computers, so wonderful and so frustrating.
The picture, if it worked. Is of my custom order from Dec 2009 of Lady Bug PLCT. The customer was very happy with the results, and i agree. It came out very cute. The best part is that the cake topper turns into a keepsake forever. Just add soap and water to get that icing off.
I am working on two custom orders tonight. My shows will have to wait, I love DVR. I love my job too. So I will be getting to work. I will have more plct's posted next week. I mixed clays in all ten of my skin tones last night. So sculpting will be a breeze. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more Pregnant Lady Cake Toppers (say that five times as fast as you can).

The need to be inspired...

I am having a hard time getting my work done today. I had to remake a cake topper that took me a long time the first time. I really liked the cake topper but it broke during shipping. I am waiting to hear back from the USPS but in the meantime I remade Arcelia's cake topper. I think I did a better job on her glasses this time around as I learn something new each time I make one. I am really happy about the finish product. I hope it comes out of the oven as lovely as it did going in. But other than that I feel so overwhelmed by my chuck of clay. It doesn't normally take me all day to make a family cake topper. Today it did. I worked on one piece from 11:30 til 4:00 with a quick lunch break. I never rush because each piece is very important. I give it my all. I just hope my "all' goes a bit fast tonight. I have some orders to fill!

Suggestions

Pregnant Lady Cake Topper Shawna
As I get to create pregnant lady cake toppers without following an order form, I wonder if I should be asking the general public for what skin tones and hair colors they are looking for. I figure, I still get to show my artist side, by creating my own outfits but still can make what the customers is looking for without fifty emails back and forth (which would constitute a custom order.)
So please feel free to leave a comment about the cake topper you are looking for. I will listen and try to make pregnant ladies that match the comments. I might not have them precisely the way you expect (a custom order would be needed for that) but the hair colors and skin colors would be helpful for me.
I really like just seeing where the clay takes me. I really felt like I was getting into a rut with polkadots and the same capri pants. I want to be able to show off some new, detailed, and original outfits with these listings on artfire. Please keep coming back, I have new listings weekly.
Thanks for your help and time, Kelly

Canes

I have been working out of new polymer clay books by Donna Kato since Christmas. I have been making lots of clay cane. Between the books and great demonstrations at my polymer clay guild, I have learned so much and improving by the day. I am really excited about my last two projects that are not even pregnant lady cake toppers! Shocking since I make mostly pregnant lady cake toppers. I think I will be making some fancy, detailed, and new outfits for all my characters since working with these easy to do canes.
