I thought I would share a little background with you as to how I began creating my vintage style jewelry. For as long as I can remember I have had a love affair with jewelry, but not just any jewelry, I love old jewelry. From the time I first tried on my grandmother's old beads I was hooked! I started studying period jewelry in my 20's and collecting in later years, creating my own vintage style jewelry happened quite by accident.

Over the years of collecting I would often run across pieces that were in really sad shape and I could not stand to see these once beautiful pieces just tossed away so I started a box to stash away the unwearable pieces. I can remember the day I went to add a few more pieces to the already overly full box and had to laugh at myself for having such a large box of useless jewelry. I dumped it all out and began to sort through it to see what I could part with. Most of it had "parts" of it that were still good and it seemed a real shame to toss out the entire piece so I started taking them apart keeping the good, getting rid of the unusable and ended up with, you guessed it, a big box of sparkly parts LOL!

I have always been crafty and loved to create things so I think for me it was a natural progression from there, picking through the pieces and remaking them into the beautiful wearable art they were meant to be. Of course my knowledge and passion for vintage jewelry would heavily influence my style with the opulent designs of Middle Ages and Renaissance, the romance of Victorian and Nouveau being my amongst my favorites and I am very partial to beautifully aged gingerbread brass and sparkly cut glass. It has been very rewarding for me to create something that I love and to share my jewelry creations with others!
