Hardanger may indeed be a Norwegian invention, from the region surrounding the Hardanger Fjord, but this geometric withdrawn-thread embroidery can look wonderful in a modern home.  Its geometry lends itself to Southwestern designs, as you can see in my bookmarks and table center cloths.
