Get Your Patio Summer Party Ready!

As summer quickly approaches, the time for barbecues and backyard parties comes with it. Prepare your outdoor space for summertime with these 2018 Summer Patio Trends!

The first thing in right now is indoor living, replicated outside; bring your rugs, strings of lights, and blankets outside for an ambiance of comfort and coziness during the warm summer nights. Pillows lining your outside benches help to add a little bit of relax-ability to your porches for your parties and hangouts.

The second theme for the most in style patios this season is Hipster-chic! Rustic looking decorations, potted plants with homemade signs in them, mason jars, and anything and everything repurposed. A huge part of the Hipster-chic aesthetic revolves around all things DIY; if you can repurpose something for another use, do it! This is not only super in right now but it can also be very inexpensive if done right. Go through old furniture that you were looking to get rid of, refinish wooden tables that you pick up at garage sales, and go to the dollar store for anything else that you may need to finish the look. Vintage and repurposed are the buzzwords for this summer, so get to it and make your porch a stylish outdoor living space!

Here are some must haves to make your porch summer nights ready!

Hanging Lights; whether its old, repurposed Christmas lights or some vintage looking light bulbs on a string, lining your fence or porch shades with these lights will add an aspect of wonder and fantasy to your yard.

Outdoor Rugs; adding some rugs to your patio can help transform your porch area into a second living room, perfect for having guests over while lounging outside. Making the area look a little more homey may be just what it needs to inspire you to throw more backyard get togethers!

Potted Plants; real or fake, potted plants are fantastic additions to any decor but specifically this season’s style. One idea that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional is growing spices and herbs in potted plants on your porch. Having these around can help you burn through your cooking bucket list with ease and look absolutely adorable to boot!

Pillows; a statement pillow here and there will add a level of comfort as well as some eye drawing pieces. Pick a theme and go with it! If you are going for a specific color theme, use those pillows to tie it all together either with the main or complementary color. If you are going for a garden theme, get some statement pillows that have botanical definitions of certain plants on them and so forth. The possibilities are truly endless.

Wood; getting as much furniture as you can made out of wood will really help solidify the grounded effect that is a staple in Hipster-chic. Pick up a few pieces that you like at garage sales and spend some time refurbishing them, they will last you longer than the plastic lawn chairs from Walmart and they look a lot nicer.

Don’t forget to recycle and refurbish all you can to keep your patio renovation in budget! It pays to be thrifty and the pieces you find will surely be conversation starters at your summer get togethers.

I love summer time and everything associated with it. Finally you can enjoy the sunshine, and to remove himself from the brunt of winter clothing. As for my space in the back yard, it will need a few alterations. With your article I got some great ideas that can easily implement in your backyard. I especially liked the idea of “hanging lights”. I even went to a local store and figured the cost of implementation of this idea. Thank you for sharing these great ideas, now I will have a great place in the backyard where we can entertain friends on summer nights!:)
