Great DIY for Mommy and Me

When I saw that love Maegan… did a DIY for her and her niece, I had to share. It’s a cute and easy DIY that anyone can do and is very on trend for kids and adults. Who doesn’t love a little glitter in their life? 🙂 And it’s a great way to update a pair of shoes from last season that you might be getting tired of. The funny thing is you can even find similar styles in store right now… so why not save some moola? 🙂 (I saw a tip on how to make Mod Podge at home instead of paying the extra dollars for the product.  Get the directions here.) The fun part of this project is a toddler can get involved!  Which will make them LOVE the shoes even more!  Here are a few of the basic directions from the blog, if you go to the link above you will also see more step by step images to help you understand the directions: * Lay out your paper and pour your glitter into bowls {because it’s more fun for toddlers!} * With your foam sponge or brush, apply a medium to thick layer of mod podge {because it works better than any other glue} to wherever you wish your glitter to land. * Dip your shoe into the glitter… * And/Or sprinkle your glitter heavily onto the wet glue and shake off the excess. * Let dry for an hour or so… {glitter should feel hard to the touch, not move around} * CRUCIAL STEP: once your first round of glitter/glue is dry… repeat the steps above by applying another thick layer of mod podge directly onto your glittered area and covering it with more glitter. This will really set your glitter in place and keep it on your shoe for the long haul. {see below} Let dry over night… Great art project for the day with your toddler, or weekend project with your girls that are back to school!  Enjoy!
