Scrabble Spotlight

Now that the geese are once more starting to fly south and autumn is fast approaching, I’m pretty excited to be able to start putting away the sundresses and breaking out the scarves and apple cider! Autumn has always been my favorite time of the year, probably because I associate it with all things cozy. One of my absolute favorite autumn activities is to hole up at home with a fire, some hot chocolate, and a hard-fought game of Scrabble, which has always been my favorite rainy-day-in board game. Just out of curiosity, I decided to take a look on Artfire to see if anyone had done anything clever craft-wise with Scrabble tiles, and I was certainly not disappointed! Here are a few of my favorite items from the Artfire collection:

As you guys can probably guess, I’m kind of a sucker for cool cufflinks, and these awesome sunburst cufflinks from Artfire seller SquishySushi definitely fit the bill. Made from traditional Scrabble tiles and Japanese washi papers, these cufflinks come in an awesome little coordinated gift box and would make a great present for the Scrabble-lover in your life!

Retro-Inspired Pin-Up Witch Scrabble Tile Pendant

I couldn’t help but smile when I saw this pendant necklace by Artfire seller purrrfectpendants – I’ve always loved retro pin-up art, and this particular pendant lends a bit of sass to what previously could have been just a boring old 1-point A tile. I’d definitely recommend checking out this seller’s page if you’re of a literary bent, because they’ve got a wide variety of pendants inspired by some of the most iconic young adult fiction ever written, including a stellar Alice in Wonderland pendant and, for the mystery-lover, a Nancy Drew pendant. Check them out!

These Scrabble tile bobby pins from Artfire seller SilverGarden are a totally adorable idea for us short-haired ladies. I love that you can order these custom-made with whichever letter tile you’d like, and I can safely say that if I were the proud owner of a set of these, I definitely wouldn’t lose them like the million other bobby pins that have somehow vanished into the ether immediately after I bought them. *slightly embarrassed cough*

Upcycled Scrabble Tile Coasters

I completely love these Scrabble tile coasters by Artfire seller EveryoneLovesPinks. I would have such a fun time busting these bad boys out at my next Scrabble night, and what a great way to effectively repurpose a Scrabble set that might be missing a few too many letters to play!

So far all of the crafts I’ve covered here are focused on repurposing Scrabble tiles, but what about the iconic Scrabble board? Artfire seller ArtmakersWorlds has got you covered with this awesomely nerdy fridge magnet, made out of polymer clay. This cool little magnet definitely deserves a place of honor on any Scrabble-junkie’s fridge. Hope you all enjoyed the Scrabbletastic crafts I’ve highlighted here, and let us know in the comments what some of your favorite Scrabble crafts are!
