I was introduced to needlework at a very young age. I often spent my afternoons doing some craft or another weather it was embroidering, knitting, crocheting or sewing doll's clothes by hand. I grew up with very competitive cousins and every year we spent summers together at our grandma's house. Every year we would bring our finished pieces to show off among ourselves and compare each other's work. During the summers we would compete to see who would finish a particular project first. Being the fastest needle worker in the family was a very coveted title and even though I only got to claim that tittle twice in my childhood, those were some of the happiest memories of my life. I still think of my cousins and our little competitions every time I stitch.
