Hi Everyone: Ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to work with my hands and create new things. I learned to sew when I was about 5 years old--I wanted to make clothes for my dolls! I was always happiest with some paints or crayons, or some glittery jewels. This has continued, and now I have an online studio for my artwork!

While I have a focus on handmade jewelry, I also like to work with different fabrics and textiles. My work is unique in that I like to put different textures or colors together to see what results. I also tend to create new items simply because I don't want my things to be like everyone else. I often see items in a store and think, "I can do that! And I will probably like it better!" Or I will experiment with different materials and ideas because I am dissatisfied by my given options. This means that making my own items, from jewelry, to clothing, to special holiday foods is second nature to me.

My jewelry is sometimes eclectic: I really enjoy working with semi-precious gemstones, pearls, wire, metal, etc. However, my newest love is weaving seed beads with my bead looms, so my newest items are all created this way. My other design work is often eclectic as well.

I went to college to study theatre, and I have a BA from Valparaiso University, and I hold an MFA in costume design from Illinois State University. I recently was awarded an artists' minigrant from the Mississippi Arts Commission, which is helping me to fund this studio as well as lots of exciting new supplies.

I live in Mississippi with my husband Kendall and our new son Corin. We have 2 very large and lazy cats and a big crazy dog.

This project is supported in part by funding from the Mississippi Arts Commission, a state agency, and in part from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

I made all of the girls' dresses and the bouquets out of feathers for my own wedding. (They were royal blue and white). I can customize your wedding too!

I made this shirt because I had a concert t shirt that I couldn't wear anymore. I dyed the main fabric, created the pattern, and constructed it all from scratch. The main body is 100% raw silk, and the sleeves and trim are 100% cotton. The silk was tie-dyed, and the lace trim and neck trim were dyed to match.

Here are a couple of bears that I made for my nieces and nephews last Christmas. They can easily be customized however you like!
