My interests are definitely reflected in the art that I make. I will share a few of my interests that have inspired my artwork in recent years.
I am a snowboarder, so I have done some snowboarding drawings, along with snowflake designs.
I love Halloween, and dark art, so I have taken part in the Inktober challenge. Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. I look forward to doing that again this year. I have a bit of Halloween inspired artwork that I've done outside of Inktober as well.
I am a huge classic car enthusiast! I love classics and rat rods. I have a couple of classic cars myself, and spend my summer months attending car shows. For the first nine years of my life, I lived on a property that had over 200 cars sitting on it, many of them were classic cars, so that may have fueled the fire a bit. I am very passionate about my car art, and I enjoy car art made by others too.
Skills and Techniques
I usually draw from sight, and therefore I like to use references. Sometimes, I may use as many as 40 different reference images to help guide me in creating my artwork. Other times, I have had only one image to work with.
Most of my full color artwork takes anywhere between 10 to 40 hours to create. Most of my graphite pencil drawings take anywhere between 3 to 10 hours to create, on average. I am self taught, so my technique is my own, and my skills are ones that I have developed over 25 years of practice.
