Get to Know

I am Pamela Hollis, designer and artisan of Pebbles at my Feet Natural Stone Adornments. My jewelry features tumbled stones, backyard pebbles, and gemstone beads with meticulously crafted wire-wrapped settings. I work wire and stones into simple jewelry that is suited to an active lifestyle. I engineer pieces to feel secure and to fit well. I strive for immediacy in my designs, as if I was making a daisy chain in the field; only using wire and stones. I am inspired by natural gemstones: their colors, polish, and light play, and the earth, snow, rivers, and skies of Colorado. I want to create a connection between the stones I use and the wearer and thus to Nature. Sometimes, I like to make something a little fancy and "old fashioned" in character.

I love stones - picking them up and putting them in my pocket, polishing them, collecting them, displaying them on windowsills, and creating jewelry with them. My dad was a lapidary hobbyist and my Mom's jewelry box was bursting with beautiful stones. I want Pebbles at my Feet to evoke that joy of discovering something beautiful, like those found treasures of childhood. Pick up a pebble; discover a gem!
