Quick Blurb

I buy, collect, hoard, stash, research and resell all types of sewing patterns...oh, and I sew them too!

Life is simple. Eat. Sleep. Sew. Repeat. Did I mention I love to sew? My sewing journey has branched off in many directions. Over the years I have developed an interest in vintage sewing patterns, vintage sewing notions, couture sewing techniques and sewing with knits. Now I am expanding my collection of vintage sewing machines. I live to learn so all challenges are welcomed as a chance to grow!

Skills and Techniques

SEWING - I love to sew & am quite adept at using a seam ripper!

RESEARCHING - Providing accurate information on an item's history is important to me. I spend way too much time digging through library e-files and books!

TECHNOLOGY - Give me a challenge and I go into hyperfocus mode until I can solve it. I need to understand how things work!

Get to Know

Thanks for stopping by PinPoint Patterns. My name is Liz.

Whether they're vintage or contemporary, from the "Big Four" or an "Indie Designer", sewing patterns are my eye candy! I enjoy browsing through flea markets, rummage sales, charity shops, yard sales, estate sales, and thrift stores to search them out.

I started sewing Barbie doll clothes on my Mom's 1948 Singer Featherweight. Then I graduated to sewing clothes for myself. In high school I drafted a pattern for a summer top. I guessed what the pattern pieces would look like and drew them onto wrapping paper. Let's just say that my first muslin never made it past the bedsheet phase! I'm always adding to my sewing knowledge through courses, reading and, of course, sewing.

I hope you'll have as much fun using your patterns as I did discovering them.
