Skills and Techniques

I have discovered a special skill at using stones and wire to create the pieces you see listed here.

Get to Know

I am currently a professor of sociology at Ball State University. I am approaching retirement and have begun to explore a variety of crafts that might occupy my time once retired. Well, at least that was my plan. I started with counted cross stitch. However, once I got the idea to use spoons in this manner there was no turning back. The first piece I made was a pin out of an olive fork. I found that once I made my first spoon, I had a flare for working with wire and stones. In getting all of this accomplished, I have had to enlist the help of my artist husband. (He has been a very good sport about answering all of my questions!) What you are seeing is a result of this collaboration. I hope you like these items and will come back frequently to see my newest creations.
