Beads..and beads, wire-twisting/wrapping, dogs, books (who dunnits mostly; love a good puzzle). Ooh, also puzzles! Music (no specifics - as they say: my taste in music ranges from "you need to listen to this" to "I know, please don't judge me."

Skills and Techniques

A lifelong interest in all things artistically unconventional led to creative stints in sewing, crocheting, jewelry-making, textiles, photography and interior decorating. I've been known to lose myself in the single-minded pursuit of that elusive bead/wire custom accent or idea or arrangement, and the resulting 'eureka!' when the final outcome is revealed. Perfection isn't always the goal. In fact, some of the most interesting works I've ever seen have been products of the unintentional.

Get to Know

I grew up surrounded by chaos...there, I said it. But six kids? How could it have gone any other way? Dad was a college professor, musician and composer and was actually pretty hilarious (I must have gotten my snark from him). Mom was a registered nurse and seamstress, and spent a lot of time rolling her eyes at Dad's dry sense of humor. Clearly, scholastic and/or artistic leanings would be in their offspring's DNA which has been pretty fun, because we all went in one direction or the other.

Therefore, my appreciation for the arts has always been an influential and very enthusiastic part of my life. It has taken until fairly recently, however, after years in the corporate world and real estate industry, to realize I wanted a much more 'hands-on' relationship with the creative process. I was honored to be part of an artistic collaboration for several years, and thoroughly enjoyed working with amazing talents in many different was an incredible experience to take along as I set off on my own path.

And so began The Twisted Redhead. 'Twisted' because wire-twisting and -wrapping have become my infatuation (along with all-things-beads), and, well, in my younger years I survived a couple of short-term 'twisty' adventures best left in the past...'nuff said. The 'Redhead' speaks for itself, since the day I was born. Now my lucky days are filled with creating items ranging from abstract to refined, from charming to quirky...all crafted by hand from my smoke-free, spoiled-dog-friendly studio in sunny Northern California.

Nothing tickles me more than a delighted customer, and I've always felt communication is the key to a long-lasting relationship. I love dialoguing with shoppers, and respond promptly to emails and inquiries through my ArtFire studio. Feel free to contact me if you'd like additional information or photos on a specific piece, if you have a question or just want to say hello.

Thanks so much for dropping in. I look forward to seeing you again soon. Until then, I wish you Blue Skies!
