Get to Know

Hello and thank you for taking the time to view my profile here on Artfire. First let me cover the question about why my shop is called Jewelryville. My name is Leslie and when I was younger, I had the nickname Lester and one day my brother turned it into Lesterville. I have used that name for many years now and when it came time to come up with a name for my jewelry biz, Jewelryville was the logical choice. I used to have the domain but someone sniped my domain when I inadvertently did not renew it and has been holding it for ransom. Thank goodness for Artfire. This is an awesome venue for the artisan. Anyway, I have been making things ever since I was a little kid of about 4 years. I like to search for beads and items that I like knowing I will be able to make them into something interesting (sometimes after being in my bead/supply collection for a long time). You never know when inspiration will strike. I started making jewelry back in the 90's and it was more or less just a hobby. Now I am putting forth great effort to make this into a liveable business. With your help, I am well on my way. Just so you know, I do have a background in design. Interior design to be specific. I attended the prestigious Design Institute of San Diego. I worked in that industry for many years but my love of working with my hands has been pulling on me strongly for quite some time now. On a personal note, the genuine pearls and shell beads will be going away once my current inventory is gone in order to accommodate vegans and not harm any animals. Don't worry, I will still use glass pearls. One of my many jewelry-making specialties includes recycling and reworking your existing jewelry pieces. Your old mateless earrings or broken bracelet can find new life with the help of my creative vision. I have a keen eye for detail, color, balance and harmony with a little humor thrown in for good measure. It is my distinct pleasure to be able to share my enjoyment for making things with you.
