Grafton, n, Australia

As you have probably guessed I am a crafty person and love to create especially crochet. I live on a few acres in Australia in a rural town (country girls) and love to spend time in our veggie garden. I also love to cook and use the produce we grow ourselves. So if I am not creating something with yarn you will usually find me in the kitchen either cooking or eating.

Skills and Techniques

I am really self taught crafter and anything I want to know I head to Pinterest. What I have tried to do with my pattern designs is only use the basic crochet stitches so all levels and skills can pick up one of my patterns and make it without too many problems. I also write my patterns in my own unique plain English style literally spelling out the steps and provide images at each stage so you can check your progress and know you are on track. I don't know how many patterns I have read and thought, I haven't got a clue what they mean. I hope with my patterns I have made it easier to understand and attainable for everyone.

Get to Know

As a little girl my grandmother taught me how to crochet and knit. Over the years I have mainly stuck to knitting which I love, but as I have gotten older I have rediscovered my love of crochet again. I love crochet because your pieces come together a lot faster and once you have mastered the basic stitches it can be very fulfilling, almost like therapy.

It was really by accident that I started my crochet design business. I bought a crochet kit from my local craft store and made a wall hanging which looked great. Then I had a light bulb moment where I thought, I am going to make a bag. So I undid all my work and sat down and started to work on a bag design and write the pattern as I went. I am not going to say it was easy, but after a lot of trial and error and making the bag many times, I finally was happy with the pattern and decided to list it for sale on Etsy. That pattern is still my biggest seller to date so I guess, the rest is history.

I am many pattern designs in now but I still wake up every day with a renewed passion to create. It is really my life and I just love what I do.
