Get to Know

My name is rose and I am what I am in any given moment. Change is my most constant companion. Folks call me herbalist, artist, healer, teacher, backyard farmer, but you can just call me rose. My relationships with art and Nature have been part of me for as long as I can remember. I have studied art and herbalism formally, yet consider myself self-taught in both realms. From my perspective, experience is the only true teacher. I gave birth to Walk in the Woods during the 1990s - as a weekend business - when I was still fully engaged in the corporate world. Since that time this home-based business has grown and shifted, just like me. My time is shared among my clients and students, my passions and responsibilities, my friends and community. I live and love in "my little hut on my little acre" and in my Whiting Mills studio in Winsted, Connecticut, US. I share my life and passions with my spouse - most often referred to as "The Boy," my charmer of a dog, named Halley and my lovely hens. I love making my own herbals and equally love sharing my methods with others so that they may do the same. It is magically empowering!
