Skills and Techniques

Wood working skills include resawing wood which is my way of helping the environment by recycling ONLY dead fallen trees to make lumber for many of my woodworking projects. Each and every Item I make is unique unto itself. No two signs are exactly the same. All my signs are made from scratch and all signs have the text engraved into the wood then the engravings are hand painted and given a nice finish. I don't use stencils or vinyl letters...

Hello, Thank you for stopping by my Hobby Store and getting to know me. First I don't have customers. I have friends who I make things for. So if you see something you like or that you would like me to make for you just ask. My Wood Signs and Wood games can be custom made to just about any size and shape using just about any font.

I believe in recycling, as such most of the items you see in my shop are made from wood that was left over from other projects or from my "scrounging" adventures. I also do some custom re-sawing which means that when a tree has fallen I recycle the wood from it by cutting planks and air drying the wood for future projects. Yes, re-sawing is time consuming and expensive but I like knowing that many of my items are 100% made by me from start to finish. I only use trees that have died naturally. I never cut live trees. All of my work is signed and dated on the back. Some of the Games and Toys I make I suspect will be destined for Children. As such I use QUALITY NON-TOXIC stains and finishes. No China made lead paint here. As you can tell from my prices I do this as a hobby. I am NOT on Artfire to get rich or to make a full time job out of it. I use Artfire to avoid honey-doos and yard work and to pay for my supplies so I can continue to make stuff. (Smile) Happiness is making sawdust in the woodshop.
