On A Working Vacation

My shop is on a small vacation, but I am not. I'm busy working to catch up on Cuff Link and Key Chain orders received through my Web Site; BetsyBerberian.com.  No new items are available here (or there) for at least one week. I am grateful for all of the new orders and want to thank everyone for your interest in my work!  My Artfire shop will re-open next week!... » Read More

Eco Friendly Jewelry

I found some gorgeous 'green' jewelry.....the necklace featured in this photo is made from recycled bicycle tires! The designer is Kathleen Nowak Tucci. These designs are so beautifully thought out, I had to share. You can see more of her jewelry designs here on her web site: www.KathleenNowakTucci.com... » Read More

Ten Pounds of Free Beads!

Someone gave me all the beads they had collected and never used. Ten pounds of beads in a variety of shapes and sizes! It was such a strange coincidence. I am planning to use more classic materials for my work and changing my Artfire shop so it will not compete with my Etsy shop.  I never announced this idea to anyone. I was waiting to have new items made and listed before I posted the news. Then, out of the blue, I receive this great gift.  Coincidence or synchronicity?  Have you ever been thinking of someone you haven't seen in a long time and right then, they call you?  Hmmm. Makes you believe in a certain type of magic.  Ok,... » Read More

Recycled Cat Bed

This is the best recycled item I have come across in long time! It is very artistic, hand painted and made from a recycled computer monitor. It was created by ALPINEBUTTERFLY, who has a shop on Etsy. The bed is hand painted with high quality acrylic paints. The artist says 'I use high quality acrylic paints, and bamboo stuffing in all of my projects. I'm constantly trying to update my art, and insure I'm reducing, re-using and recycling everything I can ... as well as only purchasing quality low/no impact products.' The artist also makes cool pillows! CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE FROM ALPINE BUTTERFLY.... » Read More

Do You Volunteer?

Volunteering can be a great way to get out of your studio and try something different. It provides an opportunity to meet people and to learn new skills. Volunteering also provides a behind the scenes view you wouldn't ordinarily get! For me it was a 'flash from from the past' when I volunteered to help out at the SF SPCA. The SPCA did a free spay and neuter day. Over 80 stray cats were spayed or neutered in one day!  I volunteered to help out behind the scenes cleaning, watching over the cats and keeping the line moving. My everyday volunteer work is with Toni's Kitty Rescue and it was this association that brought me to the SPCA last Su... » Read More
