Painting the Elephant Bangle - Part 6

It's way past time that I posted Part 6 of the elephant bangle series and here it is.

At this point, the elephants are pretty much finished and I'm filling in the background and foreground with plants, rocks and shrubs.  It's these little details that really pull it all together.  One thing you might notice is that the elephants who were a bit fluffy have been cleaned up and slimmed down a tad, which puts them in much better proportion.

I think these two are sharing a secret:

The big guy decided he was hungry!

Just for fun, this is what happens to excess paint on the brushes!

That pretty much finishes up the outside of the bangle, but don't forget that there is still the inside which until now has been covered with blue painters tape.  It's time to decide what to do about that.  Hmmmmm...what to do, what to do?

Thank you so much, all of you! This project was truly a labor of love and one that I enjoyed very much; sharing it and seeing others enjoy it has been a real pleasure. While the outside is pretty much done, the inside is not. Stay tuned for more!

Fantastic, Dawn! I was hoping I would not have to wait much longer to see this bracelet emerge. I love the elephants and this is going to be a wonderful piece of wearable art. Thank you for sharing your creative time. Julie and Blu

Stunning work on the bracelet Dawn - I'm always envious of such talent. I also like the image that was created by the "excess paint from the brushes" - a very cool abstract art piece :) Lisa

Amazing job on this bracelet. I joined this guild after you posted the other installments. I remember seeing something you posted about getting back to it. Now I have to go back and see the progression. Fantastic!!!

Such a beautiful bangle. Love the detail and how it looks!

This piece is such a work of art, I might be tempted to gold-leaf the inside and then lacquer over it multiple times... but that's just me. I'm always amazed at the detail that you manage to get in your pieces. You've done a really good job of showing the elephants in a lot of different poses! I love the one that's eating, simply because he's not in profile.

Dawn, I love all the elephants and how each has its own story to tell. I'm sure you will come up with a neat idea on how to finish the inside. You made me smile for a sec there :-)

Yay - the elephants are finished. Absolutely beautiful. I like that you gave the big guy a mouthful of grass. Dawn your jewelry art truly is masterful. Masterpieces to wear.

Wow! The progression of your elephant bangle has been so fascinating, Dawn! What amazing detail you te in such a small space. For some reason, I keep going back to the hungry guy - his expression is brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing all this with us. I am truly amazed! Peace and joy, my friend . . . Catherine
