this week's project. It is a new type of card for me. The project for the Cutting Cafe, was to create a Step Card. I have never made one, so I was excited to tackle something new. I gave mine a dual purpose. It is also a treat holder. I did the theme, Baby It's Cold Outside. I incorporated her Mitten Shaped card and on the right side, I created a hot chocolate gift packet and then created a little box on the right to insert the packet into the card.
The first layer in the front has the box on the right which holds the pouch of hot chocolate. It is finished with a red and white polka dot grosgrain ribbon and bow. The bow has some pine branch punches on each side. I love my Martha Stewart Branch Punch. The second step of the card has a shiny white layer of "snow" finished with some clear rhinestones for additional shine. The third step in the back on the left, is the Mitten. It is created in a coordinating Multi-colored striped cardstock. The fur trim on the mitten is a paper that matches the baby blue spotted box for the hot chocolate. The mitten is finished off with a pearl and baby blue snowflake die cut finished with a baby blue rhinestone in the center and clear rhinestones on the tips of the mitten.

The base paper used on the entire card is the Christmas words paper that shows on the top left of the cocoa box and the festive cocoa packet shown here out of the box on the right of the card. The packet is made using the Christmas Word paper and topped with a striped cardstock topper. The sentiment on the top reads," A Cocoa Treat to Warm You." That is red on white and lined with an olive cardstock. The corners are finished with a tiny red rhinestone.Â
The little box that holds the cocoa is made with the coordinating baby blue cardstock. The top of the box is lined with a red and white polka dotted grosgrain ribbon. The little sentiment on the front of the box is a green bazzill cardstock with red writing that says, "Baby It's Cold Outside" and has a matching pair of mittens in the center using the striped paper like in the large mitten. The cuff on those mittens is also the same baby blue polka dotted paper used on the large mitten and the box. The mittens are finished with a clear rhinestone stripe on each.
This image shows the sentiment used. This sentiment can be found in the Christmas All Around Printable Stamp Set at the Cutting Cafe.
