Good hopefully Sunny afternoon to you! This week our design project choices included, snow, snowflakes, rainbows or rain boots. I am still thinking (and trying to will) spring! I chose to use the Rain Boot Template.Â
I wanted to symbolize the rain, and use the sentiment, You are My Sunshine. I also used colors that coordinated both with springtime and Sunny days. Â Here is the Cutting Cafe's link to the template for the Rain Boot Card.
To create this card, I used a blue paper that complimented the patterned paper used for the rain boots. The next layer was a textured pastel yellow cardstock that also matched the patterned paper. I cut the boots out of a multi-colored striped pattern paper. The top and bottom portion of the boots were cut out using the same blue as the base of the card. I used the sticker sentiment reading, "You are my sunshine" From the Heidi Grace glitter stickers collection. I backed that with matching yellow and blue cardstocks. I glued down the first boot flat in the back, then the sentiment, then popped the top boot off the card with foam dots to give the card some dimension. I outlined the card, the sentiment and the boots with a faux stitching using gel pens. I finished it off using an adorable yellow and white polka dot satin ribbon by American Crafts. I topped that off with a glittery blue butterfly in the center of the ribbon.Â
I think it turned out cheery and does have the springy feel to it I was going for.
Instructions for using the template are included with the template. See the link above for how to get the template.Â
Thanks for checking in this week. Happy Scrapping!!
