I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in this blog hop hosted by Toltec Jewels.
We were each given a beautiful polymer zclay bead "orphan" made by  Patricia Handschuh of The Color of Dreams Boutique
. We were asked to create something with it, then also to share a dream that has come true, is in progress, or one for the future.Â
Here is a picture of the bead I received, along with some things I started pulling out to go with it. Â
This is part of my process-I find beads that I feel go "with" the idea or in this instance, component I want to feature. Â Then when I have a good stash, I usually have a vague sense of what kind of piece I want to make. Â Then I have to decide what technique to use. Â Sometimes it works out well, sometimes it doesn't and I have to redo one or all of the steps.
This time I decided to use a Right Angle Weave twist, embellished with teeny turquoise chunks and these glorious copper pearls. Â Anytime I can incorporate pearls into a piece, my heart is delighted. Â The lariat rope itself is made of these opalescent glass beads that accent the stripes and lighter tones in the bead. Â I really wanted the bead to be the focal, so i went with an embellished beaded bezel. Â This one is the second try-the first one was a bulky disaster and had to be demolished and then banished.
So now I bet you want to know about my dream(s)... Well, mine is simple, has come true, am constantly working on it, and have more hopes for the future...
I dare to dream to let myself be the artist I am.
Please take a look at the rest of the pictures of my piece HERE IN MY SHOP! and let me know what you think!
