There is something particularly wonderful about the jewelry made by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs
, and I've devoted a feature article found here [link] at Blogger
to that special quality and Catherine's creations. I hope you'll check it out! For good measure, I'm appending a few more of her pieces at this blog on ArtFire, as a supplement to those in the main article. Here they are!Copper Daisy Hoop Earrings with Amethysts
Catherine has named this wonderful pair of earrings "Spring Beauty," and they certainly evoke the springtime and are certainly beauties! The copper daisy hoops were made by Kristi of Kristi Bowman Design out of copper clay, in a process that results in an unpredictable array of colors. Because Catherine detected a richness of lavender in the color for these hoops, she chose amethyst rondelles for the earrings' gemstones. As she also mentions in her listing, amethyst is considered a stone of peace that nurtures contentment—a meaning that aptly fits the lovely look of these sweet earrings.Malachite Scarab Necklace with Swarovski Crystals
I was rather sad to leave this piece ("Sacred Scarab") out of the Blogger article, as it's one of my favorites, so I want to include it here! Catherine performed two remarkable feats in crafting this beauty: she scouted out a wonderful fine silver scarab pendant (handmade by Beth Hemilla of Hint Jewelry), and then she managed to design a piece around it that not only does the pendant justice, but expertly enhances it. The malachite rondelles and "Medium Vitrail" Swarovski crystals are fantastic choices and make "Sacred Scarab" an outright stunning creation.
The earrings that accompany "Sacred Scarab" are lovely too, and are shown below. (As a matter of note, they are sold separately from the necklace.)Malachite Green Earrings with Swarovski CrystalsPink Rhodochrosite Earrings with Swarovski Crystals
Last but not least is this lovely pair of earrings dubbed "Sweet Pink." They've held my attention time and time again when I've visited Catherine's shop. I think the rhodochrosite stones are simply remarkable, and I love that she has used "Black Diamond" (medium gray) Swarovski crystals with them. They're a perfect romantic pair!
I hope this brief entry will prompt you to check out more about Shadow Dog Designs in the extensive article on blogger.
Thank you so much!Best wishes to everyone from Gonzo and me!
