A couple of days ago I curated a collection of different shades of green, called “Refreshing Greens.”  The collection was inspired by watching the miraculous transformation of the desert due to the unusual amount of rain we have been receiving, probably due to El Nino.  Officially to date, we have received just a little over 2.5”, which is 1” more than the norm (our yearly norm is about 9.5”).  It’s amazing how that extra inch of moisture has kept the desert green!  By this time of the year, the desert is usually toasty brown heading into our hottest month of the year, June.  And we are 5-10 degrees below normal.  It has been a SWEET spring this year!

Here are the green items I featured to celebrate a green desert:

Green and orange spatter batik Indonesian cotton guitar strap handmade by Terri of Coolstraps

Tropical green and floral slip om pillow cover handmade by Karen of UniquelyHandmade

I hope your desert stays green awhile longer because this green collection is awesome. So bright and vivid. Especially Diane's pendant. Wow. Shared everywhere. Tasty treats to Seamus for keeping the desert under control. Julie and Blu

Green is my very favorite color. They say that green is the color of balance and harmony and this wonderful "green" collection is a fine example of that. Thank you Catherine! Sharing.....

What a beautiful collection! There are just so many lovely shades of green. I will have to say it is not the color that first comes to mind for the desert - glad you have been able to enjoy them this year.
