Since I started selling handmade and
hand-constructed jewelry, the cross necklace or pendant remains to be
one of my top selling items. I think it's the simplicity of the
cross necklace that makes it so appealing and to some, the religious
meaning is very important.
Cross necklaces are a great gift for
the first communion and other religious holidays like Easter or
Christmas. I have always liked cross necklaces and even made a rosary for sale at The Singing Beader's shop. I sell a lot of
cross necklaces around the holidays.
Crosses comes in all sizes from very
small, 10mm to very large 6cm. Some have a a crucifix, with Jesus'
body and others are totally smooth. Some are sterling silver, wood or
acrylic and some are adorned with crystals or gemstones. Cross necklaces come with short or long chains or various cords, like leather or satin.
I offer a variety of cross necklaces at
The Singing Beader. My favorite are the "bamboo-like" etched
surface crosses that come in silver pewter, gunmetal pewter, gold
plated pewter, and copper plated pewter. What I like most about
these crosses is the medium size and that they are lightweight and
comfortable to wear. All have matching chains and all include a gift
All of my cross chains can be shortened
in length per your request. This is often necessary for a petite
woman or young girl. I currently have two antiqued brass plated
crosses for the petite person. The crosses are both filigree design.
One comes with a gift box, however, you may request a gift box for
any of the cross necklaces in my shop. One of the antiqued brass crosses measures 25mm and the other measures 20mm.
I also sell an illusion necklace with a
millefiori cross. It is a beauty! It is securely constructed,
however, I don't recommend this one for a child because of its delicate design.
Men like crosses, too. If you see a
cross and would like the chain changed to a leather cord at your
desired length, I can fulfill your request.
